We are delighted to introduce the new Whisk Widgets! With them Whisk is getting closer to creators, food bloggers and publishers with recipe websites.
All Whisk Widgets now allow users to Save Recipes to the Whisk platform in a couple of clicks and the large widget also offers grocery cart functionality.
We have also introduced a feature for creators to add their own tracking ids to all widgets. Easy tracking for actions in google analytics or affiliate – a feature highly requested by our creators and publisher partners.

Whisk Widget now has 3 modes: compact, large and floating.
Compact Save Recipe Widget
Compact mode is a simple Save Recipe button that does just that – saves your recipe onto Whisk. The colour is locked to Whisk green to help with brand recognition and clicks.
Save Recipe + Shopping Cart Widget
The large widget is the best converting button option with 2 buttons. One of them is the Add to Cart button, which can automatically detect your region and provide a list of integrated retailers to choose from. If there is at least one, your users will be able to instantly shop for ingredients, right from your recipe.
If there are no retailers in their area this button will disappear, leaving the Save Recipe button. This saves your recipe to Whisk and also links the user to their Recipe box in Whisk.
All Whisk users can create and manage their shopping lists through the Whisk Recipe Box to help with grocery shopping and remember all the ingredients they need to cook their recipe.
The large widget offers the most options including hiding that Add to Cart button (in case you really don’t want your visitors shopping for ingredients).
Floating Save Recipe button
Floating widget is similar to the basic Save Recipe button. The difference is it’s position: it’s always fixed to the corner of the screen. It proved to be the best place for it on some of our creators’ websites.
Whisk Recipe Widgets WordPress plugin
We also released a very lightweight WordPress plugin to make it even easier for WordPress-based creators to add Whisk Widgets to their websites. But it has other benefits, too. It has zero impact on Google PageSpeed.
The plugin loads Whisk Widgets only after real user interaction (or after 5 seconds delay), making it literally invisible to Google Lighthouse and PageSpeed metrics. So there won’t be any SEO or performance issues from using Whisk Widgets.
You can see this plugin in action on this very website: all Recipe of The Week posts have Save Recipe widget from it.
All the widget customisations are available in the WordPress plugin and we’re planning to keep updating it if new features are added. Try it for free and let us know what you think!
